Congratulations to our CE Series Yacht Designer, Íñigo Toledo of Baracuda Yacht Design. His most recent yacht design, the Sasga Yachts “Menorquin 48”, was awarded the “TOP SPOT” for this year’s European Powerboat of the Year. The award ceremony was held on January 17th.
Beating four other nominated boats to take the honours in the prestigious ‘Up to 18m’ category, the PBY awards evaluate aspects such as build quality, seakeeping and design consistency and the semi-displacement Menorquin 48 was praised for its ability to maintain a strong sense of mediterranean history and tradition, wrapped inside a contemporary hull benefitting from today’s modern efficiencies and functionality.
Barracuda Yacht Design have been responsible for the full range of Menorquin Yachts since the beginning. Comprising 5 retro-modern hulls from 35ft to 68ft, the hull forms are based on Barracuda’s many years of hydrodynamic experience in good seakeeping and high-level efficiency, with inspiring interiors to match.
The annual PBY awards are determined by an independent panel of eight professional judges made up of senior editors and boat-test journalists from Europe’s leading marine consumer publications and recognised as one of the best and most trusted in the entire industry.
